My Story
I have struggled with my weight all my life. The rewards from my accomplishments are priceless as I have improved my health, my physical appearance, my confidence and attitude.
I grew up with poor self-esteem and body image. I was teased as a child and teenager. As an adult I constantly struggled becoming all too familiar with the term Yo-yo dieting. I found things that worked and many that didn't. I would lose 10 pounds just to re-gain 20. I am an emotional eater. I looked to food for comfort and celebration.
At my highest weight I was 230 pounds. After I gave birth to my little Superman I became sad, withdrawn and anti-social. I didn't have any clothes that fit and I hit a point where I didn't want to look in the mirror. I decided it was time to make a change. I have been learning and growing in search of the better part of me ever since.
I took on a journey to better health and educated myself. I lost the first 40 pounds at home. I joined a gym and within nineteen months of having my son I stepped out on stage and competed as a Figure body builder. I went on to improve and competed two more times that same year. I put myself out there to be judged. I didn't place in my shows but I received a engraved trophy for fitness achievement from my family.
From my achievements I was asked to represent World Physique Fitness Magazine, LLC. as their spokesmodel. I have moved on and now have started my own company called "Figure Doll," along with this site to help support others in their journey to health and wellness. I hope you enjoy it!
